Joe Barreiro, the longtime Caddie Master at Sleepy Hollow Country Club, retired in March 2018. Barreiro completed his first loop in 1965 at the Scarborough Club. When Barreiro retired, he was inducted into the National Caddie Hall of Fame. Joe retired after the 2017 season, but he is still a well-known figure at Sleepy Hollow.
In recognition of fifty-plus years of service, the membership of Sleepy Hollow made contributions in his honor to establish the Joe Barreiro Scholarship Fund. It couldn’t be a more fitting tribute. During Joe’s tenure, over 100 young men received scholarships to attend college, and Joe received the Caddie Master of the Year award not once, but twice. Awardees will be caddies from Sleepy Hollow Country Club.
