John Assumma, longtime General Manager of Waccabuc Country Club, established this scholarship in tribute to his parents. An annual family reunion tournament funded the scholarship. This award is available to any outstanding scholar, with preference given to a student from Waccabuc attending Columbia University and/or a studying higher education.
The current recipient is Samantha Santos, who is attending UCONN, Waterbury. Santos is in the graduating class of 2024-25 and is studying health sciences.
