Golf Marathon Raises over $90,000

Team Sunningdale Leads Marathon Fundraising Again

The 9th Annual Golf Marathon took place at Siwanoy Country Club on Monday, August 14, 2017. With the support of marathoners and contributors, this year’s event was a huge success raising $90,000! Over thirty players raced through the beautiful hills and landscape of Siwanoy Country Club in hopes of playing as many holes as possible before sun down. Participants included caddie masters, caddie scholars, golf professionals and club members from CSF member clubs.

Golfers played over a combined 2000 holes, but at the end of the day nobody completed more holes than our leader Trini Gumbs (Century) with a total of 113. Jeff Wattles (Greenwich) and Alex Wynn (Greenwich) were not far behind – the pair completed 110 holes each and looked to have the ability to complete a few more, if only they had a few moments of daylight left on their side. Hank Pietrani (Waccabuc) trailed by just a few, adding 102 holes to finish the day. Leading fundraisers with contributions exceeding $20,000 were Kyle Sedlacek (Sunningdale) for the fifth year in a row, Kevin Winslow (Woodway), and Angelo Chavez (Greenwich).
