45 Directors Approved During Fund’s 2019 Annual Meeting


Greenwich, C.T. (October 17, 2019) – The Westchester Golf Association Caddie Scholarship Fund returned to Tamarack Country Club for its 2019 Annual Meeting.  Mr. Alan Nahoum’s President’s Report highlighted success in events, scholarship, and year-long processes; mourned losses; and announced foci of the upcoming year.  The year can be reviewed via the WGA Caddie Scholarship 2019 Year in Review.

The agenda of the Annual Meeting also included reports from the Audit, Endowed, and Nominating Committees; the Treasurer, Mr. David Christie; the Investment Committee Chairman, Mr. Murray Stoltz; Johanna Gavin, Senior Director; John O’Brien, Manager, Fundraising & Development.

The Nominating Committee recommended 45 Directors for the 2019-20 Board of Directors [and seven Directors to the Emeritus Advisory Board], including three nominees to include: Mr. Matthew Feurer of Old Oaks Country Club, Mr. Michael Pollack of Rockrimmon Country Club and Mrs. Polly Turnesa Sparling, daughter of the Fund’s co-founder Willie Turnesa.

Also nominated and approved were the 2019-20 officers: Mr. Alan Nahoum of Tamarack Country Club for President, Mr. John Connor of Siwanoy Country Club for Vice President, Mr. William Collins of Wiltwyck Golf Club for Vice President, Mr. David Christie of The Stanwich Club for Treasurer, and Mr. Brad Steinthal of Winged Foot Golf Club for Secretary.

In closing, Mr. Dave Donelson of the Metropolitan Golf Writers Association presented the CSF the Association’s proceeds from the 2019 Annual Dinner and Awards, which was the largest gift received by the MGWA in its relationship with the local caddie scholarship funds.
