Caddie Scholarship Fund

The MGACSF

The Metropolitan Golf Association Caddie Scholarship (MGACSF) is available for young men and women who work in service to golf at participating clubs and courses in the Fairfield (CT), Bronx, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester (NY) Counties. The Fund has assisted roughly 3,000 deserving candidates, offering over $26 million in aid since its inception in 1956. The Fund also offers additional funding in the form of Named and Endowed Scholarships, while partnering with the Evans Scholarship program and Jay Mottola Scholarship to offer additional avenues for financial support.

MGACSF Scholarship

Since 1956, the CSF has made it a mission to never turn away a caddie in need. For over 65 years, we have stuck to that mission offering college scholarships to eligible candidates of the MGACSF. A candidate must have completed a minimum of two seasons in “service to golf” at a Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA) member club. “Service to golf” includes caddieing, work in the golf shop, bag room, on the practice range and golf course superintendent’s crew.

Endowed and Named Scholarships

Endowed and named scholarship funds provide additional opportunities for aid. These special scholarships are awarded according to guidelines established by the donor. Some are for specific fields of study, or for caddies from specific clubs, and some are awarded above and beyond the general MGACSF scholarship.

Evans Scholarship

The Evans Scholarships are awarded to a select group of caddies who have a strong caddie record, excellent grades, demonstrated financial need and outstanding character. Applicants are evaluated and compete for a limited number of scholarships awarded annually.
