Tom Nieporte, Sr. Memorial Scholarship

Tom Nieporte was the longtime head professional at Winged Foot Golf Club, one of the most prestigious positions in all of golf. Tom succeeded Claude Harmon, the legendary player and instructor, and held the position until his retirement in 2006. His dedication and compassion to helping others was evident throughout his role at Winged Foot. He had a special commitment to helping caddies in pursuing higher education. During his tenure, more than 100 caddies and others who worked in service to golf at Winged Foot received scholarships to attend college. Tom passed away on December 21, 2014 and he is missed dearly by everyone privileged to know him.  In keeping with Tom’s love of golf and caddieing, the Nieporte family established the Tom Nieporte, Sr. Memorial Scholarship in 2015 to be awarded to outstanding Winged Foot Golf Club caddies.
